Barbers Shop for me, as the columnist pointed out, either of his runs this season would be more than good enough to win this and back in trip, can’t see him getting beat.

Schindlers Hunt ran well in this last year and ran a blinder last time out, over a trip he doesn’t get. This is his perfect trip and he is a way better horse on a sound surface. Great each way value.

Good read – some good thought provoking comments aswell guys, keep it up!

As for my fancy, I’m leaning towards TRANQUIL SEA who will come here fresh I’m guessing and if that is the case he’ll take plenty of beating. He has course form and was very impressive in the Paddy Power.

Imperial Commander won the race (Paddy Power Gold Cup) off 139 before winning the RyanAir the same season, and Tranquil Sea won the same race off 148 with consumate ease.

Suggests to me that at 7/1 (Bet365 and William Hill) he is an outstanding bet at the price, given the exploits of Imperial Commander since.

Really good article and I have to agree with the columnist. On all known form Barbers Shop should win this. I think Joncol might be slightly underestimated and Tranquil Sea is the biggest danger but Barbers Shop all the way for me.

I’m just not convinced Planet Of Sound gets this trip comfortably and against horses here, who will relish this distance or can get further, I think he will struggle.
I think that either of Barbers Shop’s last two runs would be good enough to win this and although a possible kiss of death, his jumping is normally rock solid.
I think Tranquil Sea will pose the biggest threat to the selection.

Not mentioned but will be 1 of my bets of the meeting if he runs. Chapoturgeon with Murphy back on board for me will run a blinder. Likes Cheltenham and with a nice patient ride got to be best e/w bet of the meeting for me at 25/1 in places

Have looked through the race and I have to admit to being drawn to one of Planet Of Sound or Barbers Shop, which at the moment im quite unsure.

Think I’ll wait another week or two before making a decision but feels Hobbs horse has room for improvement whereas maybe Barbers Shop has already run to his best level in defeat elsewhere?

Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter.

An excellent article once again, this site is really producing the goods at such an early stage..impressive!

In this race I quite like the look of Tranquil Sea who goes best fresh and im guessing wont race again between now and the festival, looks a good price also.

Schindlers Hunt will run his usual race aswell id say.
